Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) Processing

Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) is a valuable by-product of the palm oil industry that contains recoverable oil suitable for biodiesel production. Mehar Engineering provides efficient pretreatment systems to recover residual oil from POME through advanced separation technologies such as centrifugation, filtration, and other purification processes.

The recovered oil is then processed through transesterification, where triglycerides react with alcohol to produce biodiesel and glycerine. Our optimized process ensures high conversion efficiency, improved biodiesel yield, and reliable plant operation.

Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD) Processing

Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD) is another economical feedstock widely used in biodiesel production due to its high free fatty acid (FFA) content and excellent availability.

Our PFAD processing technology includes an effective esterification stage to reduce free fatty acids before transesterification. This improves process efficiency, minimizes catalyst consumption, and prevents soap formation, resulting in high-quality biodiesel with consistent performance.
